My second Nordic Wind shawl was completed last night. It is knitted with Rowan Felted Tweed, a version that was knitted up at my local yarn shop. It is a much thinner and lighter wool and deliciously soft.
For those who have knitted this shawl, You will note that I finished the shawl's garter stitch border in a different colour. That's because I knew I would run out of the grey and I had lots of the navy blue left so I decided to give it a go. I quite like it like that!
Feeling a bit under the weather so I will say TTFN!
It looks great! I'm using Rowan felted tweed for the color work scarf I've been knitting. it's nice stuff. I love how this one came out -- the little border on the edge looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret. The border was a happy accident and I love that yarn!
DeleteThis is a super shawl, and the darker border really makes it! You are turning into a nifty knitter!
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline. It was a very pleasant surprise to find that the darker colour worked!
DeleteThis yarn is so soft and I love the colours!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marilla! It sounds like you know this yarn well!
DeleteOh, this may be my favorite "Creation By Melissa," yet!! It turned out beautifully and that border is such a nice touch. I am ridiculously allergic to wool, so I could never even wear something like this, but I'll bet you'll find it very warm and perfect for a cool evening during these winter months...
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, Melissa :)
Thanks Carol. I knew you would like this colour combination. I should've posted the photo with me wearing the blue Nani Iro top, which you love!
DeleteLove the colours of the scarf! And the navy blue edging is perfect! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks BJ!
DeleteI just found your blog and I love your choices of fabric and patterns. I found you when I googled Vogue 8985; but your versions of the Kika pattern convinced me that will be perfect for the linen I have. Can't wait to try some of the other patterns I've seen Here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janie. I hope the Kika pattern will work for you. Sometimes it just takes awhile to find the right thing for you (that was my situation).
ReplyDeleteThis shawl looks so elegant, very beautiful. And I think your decision to add a navy blue border was a very good one.
ReplyDeleteA lovely scarf! and the colours are yummy too, It looks great with the border :)
